How EPL Helps CEO’s
The Goal
Assemble and activate an executive team that is more impactful and effective.
A Principle
“It’s easier to act your way into a new way of thinking than to think your way into a new way of acting”. (R. Pascale)
More impactful and effective leaders result from working as a team on your current business opportunities and obstacles. Your people and your issues are at the center of our approach. As part of the process, we help you make sure your team consistently works on the real issues and see them through to completion.
Consequently, we will spend 80% - 90% of our time with the executive team as a team, interacting with your organizations real world issues.
What is EPL’s Approach?
As a certified CEO Advantage advisor, I help CEO’s and their direct reports with three fundamental disciplines:
- Clear Long-Term Strategic Thinking
- A Tight Strategy Execution Process
- Building a Cohesive Leadership Team
We focus on execution while leveraging proven principles which are well known but rarely implemented. The CEO Advantage process is built primarily on the works of three noted business authorities:
- From Jim Collins's work in Good to Great and Built to Last , we integrate core values, purpose, envisioned future clarify long-term strategic thinking and connect it to current issues and profitable outcomes.
- From Verne Harnish’s work in Mastering the Rockefeller Habits, we establish key priorities, critical and smart numbers, and a consistent meeting rhythm to drive consistent execution against barriers, and for opportunities.
- From Patrick Lencioni’s work in The Five Dysfunctions of a Team and The Four Obsessions of An Extraordinary Executive, we focus on becoming a smart and healthy organization, starting with a commitment to executive duties committing to “team one," and building a cohesive leadership team.
If you have not already, you should read these books and learn the concepts on your own. Once you have done this, ask yourself, “Do I have a process for implementing these disciplines in my organization?"
If your answer is “no," I would like to help.
